Every safari offers a fresh opportunity to witness one of India's finest protected forests and the remarkable wildlife that calls it home.
Often regarded as the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, Kanha is a reserve where beauty is matched by extraordinary biodiversity. The sprawling grasslands support some of India's healthiest populations of Barasingha—the iconic Hard Ground Swamp Deer that was brought back from the brink of extinction through one of the country's greatest conservation success stories. Alongside them roam Tigers, Leopards, Wild Dogs, Sloth Bears, Gaur, Sambar, Chital and more than 300 species of birds.
Kanha is a forest that rewards patience and observation. Morning mist slowly lifts from the meadows as herds of deer emerge to graze, while alarm calls echo through towering Sal trees, hinting at the presence of a nearby predator. Throughout the day, every bend in the track has the potential to reveal a memorable wildlife encounter, while the ever-changing light transforms the landscape into a photographer's delight.

Upon arrival at either Raipur or Nagpur Airport, you will be welcomed by a Beyond Wild representative before beginning your scenic drive to Kanha Tiger Reserve. As towns gradually give way to forests, rolling countryside and tribal villages, the anticipation of entering one of India's finest wildernesses steadily builds.
Arrive at your jungle resort in time for lunch before settling into your rooms and preparing for your first game drive.
Your inaugural evening safari offers the perfect introduction to Kanha. As the afternoon light softens across the meadows and wildlife begins moving towards open clearings and water sources, experience your first glimpse of this remarkable forest before returning to the resort for dinner.
Rise before sunrise and head into Kanha while the meadows are still touched by mist. Barasingha and Chital begin to emerge into the open grasslands, while the first calls from the Sal forest help reveal where the jungle is already stirring.
The morning drive takes its rhythm from the forest itself. Fresh pugmarks, alarm calls and movement along the tracks may shape our route as we explore different habitats in search of Tigers and the many species that share their territory.
Return to the resort for lunch and a leisurely break before setting out again in the afternoon. As the light warms the woodland, bamboo thickets, waterholes and open clearings take on a different character, offering a fresh perspective on Kanha.
Another full day in Kanha brings a new set of possibilities. We venture out once again before sunrise, exploring a different combination of meadows and forest tracks according to recent wildlife activity.
The Hard-ground Barasingha may be feeding in the grasslands, Gaur can appear along the forest edge, while the sudden alarm of Chital or Langurs may suggest that a predator is moving unseen nearby. Patience is often rewarded here, and the smallest signs can become the beginning of an exciting sighting.
After time at the resort during the middle of the day, return for the afternoon safari. The changing light and cooler temperatures often bring renewed movement, making the final drive another opportunity to experience Kanha at its most engaging.
Your final morning safari provides one last opportunity to experience the magic of Kanha before bidding farewell to the forest.
After breakfast, check out of the resort and begin your return journey to either Raipur or Nagpur Airport, taking with you unforgettable memories of one of India's greatest wildlife destinations.
