Most guests travelling from major cities prefer Umaria or Katni.

Pleasant weather, lush forests and beautiful scenery. Wildlife is active throughout the reserve, making this an enjoyable time for safaris.
March to June
As temperatures rise and vegetation becomes thinner, wildlife gathers around water sources. Summer consistently offers the best opportunities for tiger sightings and is the preferred season for serious wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.
July to September
The park remains closed during the monsoon while the forest regenerates for the next safari season.

Winter mornings: 5°C to 12°C

Winter mornings can be cold during open jeep safaris, while summers are hot and dry.

Safari timings vary throughout the year depending on sunrise and sunset.
Can we visit Bandhavgarh Fort?+
No.
The historic Bandhavgarh Fort is currently closed to tourists, and visitors are not permitted to enter the fort complex.
Although it remains one of the reserve's most iconic landmarks, it can now only be admired from within the forest during safari drives.
Can we bring our cameras?+
Absolutely.
Bandhavgarh offers some of the finest wildlife photography opportunities in India, with excellent chances of photographing tigers in beautiful forest settings.
Don't forget extra batteries and memory cards.
Is Bandhavgarh suitable for children and senior citizens?+
Yes.
Bandhavgarh is an excellent destination for families as well as senior travellers.
Guests should be comfortable sitting in an open safari vehicle for approximately four hours.
Is there mobile network inside the park?+
Mobile coverage is limited inside the reserve.
Most lodges have reasonable connectivity, but once you're inside the forest, the focus naturally shifts to the wilderness around you.
Can we get out of the safari vehicle?+
No.
Guests must remain inside the safari vehicle throughout the drive unless instructed otherwise by Forest Department officials.
What if we don't see a tiger?+
You'll still have explored one of India's most iconic tiger landscapes.
Watching a sloth bear forage through the forest, hearing langurs sound the alarm, spotting an ancient cave hidden among the hills or simply experiencing the atmosphere of Bandhavgarh is memorable in its own right.
Every safari tells a different story.
Are mobile phones allowed on safari?+
No.
You can either leave them at the resort or keep them in the locker provided by the Forest Department. The locker remains with your safari vehicle throughout the drive.
