Every year, well over two million wildebeest, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, undertake an extraordinary journey in search of fresh grazing. Their movement brings them into the legendary Northern Serengeti, where dramatic river crossings and unforgettable predator encounters create one of nature's greatest wildlife experiences.
Yet Tanzania offers far more than the migration alone.
The vast Serengeti ecosystem is one of Africa's last truly wild landscapes, stretching to the horizon in every direction. Immense herds of plains game support exceptional populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and countless other predators. Every game drive offers something different, whether it is a lion pride resting beneath an acacia tree, a cheetah scanning the plains from a termite mound, elephants moving silently through the grasslands or thousands of wildebeest disappearing into the distance.
The journey also takes you to the magnificent Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. Often described as Africa's Garden of Eden, this unique natural enclosure supports one of the highest densities of wildlife anywhere on the continent, including excellent opportunities to see the endangered Black Rhino alongside lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos and a remarkable variety of birdlife.

Depending on your arrival time, spend the remainder of the day relaxing amidst lush coffee plantations and landscaped gardens while recovering from your international journey. This provides the perfect opportunity to prepare for the exciting days that lie ahead.

After an early breakfast, begin your journey towards the legendary Serengeti National Park.
As the landscapes gradually change from cultivated highlands to endless open savannah, wildlife sightings begin almost immediately. The drive itself becomes a safari as zebras, giraffes, elephants and numerous antelope species appear along the way.
By afternoon, arrive in the Northern Serengeti, the finest location for witnessing the Great Migration during this time of year. Following lunch, head straight out on your first game drive before checking into camp.
During migration season, enormous herds of wildebeest dominate the landscape while predators remain close behind, making every drive full of anticipation and excitement.
Wake before sunrise and enter the Northern Serengeti while the plains are still quiet and the first light is beginning to spread across the grasslands. During migration season, the sheer scale of the herds becomes apparent as wildebeest and zebra gather across the open country.
Our guides follow the latest movement of the animals rather than adhering to a fixed route. We may spend time watching herds assemble near the Mara River, or move elsewhere in search of active predators. Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards and Hyenas are all drawn to the abundance of prey.
A full-day game drive allows us to remain with the wildlife for longer, with a picnic lunch carried into the reserve. We return to camp in the evening after making the most of the day's sightings.
Another day in the Northern Serengeti gives us the freedom to respond to changing wildlife activity. An early departure takes us towards the areas where the migration is currently concentrated, with thousands of animals often stretching across the horizon.
If herds gather near a river crossing point, we may wait patiently as the animals test the water and movement builds along the banks. At other times, the focus may shift to resident predators, with lion prides, cheetahs or leopards taking advantage of the seasonal abundance.
The day is spent largely in the field, using a picnic lunch to avoid unnecessary travel back to camp. By late afternoon, the softening light brings another beautiful dimension to the Serengeti before returning to camp for the evening.
After breakfast, enjoy another rewarding morning game drive while gradually making your way south through the Serengeti ecosystem.
The drive itself often produces outstanding wildlife sightings before reaching the spectacular Ngorongoro Highlands by evening.
Check in to your camp situated close to the crater rim and enjoy dinner overlooking one of Africa's most remarkable landscapes.
Today promises one of the highlights of the entire safari.
Descend into the floor of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of wildlife viewing inside this extraordinary natural amphitheatre.
Sheltered by towering crater walls, an incredible concentration of wildlife lives here throughout the year. Lions patrol the open grasslands while elephants, buffalo, wildebeest, zebras and hippos graze peacefully nearby. Ngorongoro also offers one of the finest opportunities anywhere in East Africa to encounter the endangered Black Rhino.
Throughout the day, our guides carefully position the vehicle for the best wildlife encounters while making the most of changing light conditions for photography.
Return to camp during the evening for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, begin the drive back towards Kilimanjaro International Airport.
The journey offers one final opportunity to admire Tanzania's spectacular scenery before your safari comes to an end.
Although the adventure concludes here, the memories of endless Serengeti plains, dramatic migration scenes and unforgettable wildlife encounters will remain long after you return home
