Your safari begins in Nairobi before travelling through the spectacular Great Rift Valley towards the legendary Masai Mara.
The changing scenery offers a wonderful introduction to Kenya, from fertile highlands and traditional villages to the endless open plains that define East Africa.
Arrive at your carefully selected safari camp in time for lunch before heading out on your first afternoon game drive.
There is no better introduction to Africa than your first drive across the Mara. Herds of zebra graze alongside giraffes, elephants wander across the plains and the possibility of encountering one of the reserve's famous predators is never far away.
Return to camp after sunset for dinner and overnight stay.
Rise before sunrise for your first full day in the Mara. In the cool morning air, the plains are at their most active, with predators often still moving after the night's activity.
Your Maasai guide will read the latest signs across the reserve, using fresh tracks, alarm calls and recent sightings to shape the route. A pride of Lions may be resting near a stream, Cheetahs could be scanning the open grasslands, or Elephants may be moving steadily between feeding areas.
Return to camp for lunch and time to relax before the afternoon drive. As the sun begins to fall, the savannah takes on a warm glow and wildlife activity builds once again.
Guests preferring longer hours in the reserve can also choose a full-day drive with a picnic lunch.
Another day brings us deeper into the rhythms of the Mara. The early morning drive begins with the softest light, when long shadows stretch across the plains and the chances of seeing active predators are often excellent.
We remain guided by what the bush is telling us. Recent sightings may lead us towards a Lion pride, a Leopard's favoured riverine habitat or a stretch of grassland where Cheetahs have been hunting. Along the way, the abundant herbivore life of the Mara keeps the landscape constantly animated.
Between drives, enjoy a relaxed lunch at camp before heading out again in the afternoon. Guests preferring longer hours in the reserve can also choose a full-day drive with a picnic lunch.
Make the most of your final full day in the Mara with an early departure into the reserve. By now, the changing patterns of wildlife activity have begun to reveal themselves, allowing the guide to focus on areas offering the strongest possibilities.
We may follow predators across open country, explore riverine woodland or spend time simply watching a herd move naturally across the plains. The Mara often rewards staying with a sighting rather than rushing on, and there is time today to observe behaviour at a relaxed pace.
Continue into the afternoon, either with a full-day safari and picnic lunch or by returning to camp between drives. The final golden hours across the savannah provide a memorable farewell to the Mara.
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a final en route game drive as you make your way towards the reserve gate.
