Upon arrival at Khajuraho Airport or Railway Station, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel.
Later, visit the magnificent Western Group of Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its extraordinary architecture and intricate stone sculptures dating back over a thousand years. The beautifully preserved temples showcase the artistic brilliance of the Chandela dynasty and are among India's most treasured historical monuments.
Spend the evening exploring the peaceful town of Khajuraho or relax at your hotel.

Panna National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a short scenic drive to Panna National Park, one of Central India's most picturesque tiger reserves.

Begin your day with an early morning safari when the forest awakens with bird calls and wildlife activity. Your experienced naturalist will guide you through different tourism zones while interpreting animal behaviour and tracking fresh signs left by the park's predators.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and leisure time before setting out once again during the afternoon to explore another section of the reserve.
Each safari presents new opportunities to observe wildlife in its natural habitat while enjoying the beautiful landscapes surrounding the Ken River.

Panna Tiger Reserve is located in the state of Madhya Pradesh, along the beautiful Ken River. Known for its dramatic plateaus, deep gorges, riverine forests and thriving tiger population, Panna is one of India's finest wildlife destinations and one of the country's greatest conservation success stories.
Which is the nearest airport?+
The nearest airports are:
• Khajuraho (Approx. 20-25 minutes)
• Jabalpur (Approx. 4.5 hours)
• Gwalior (Approx. 4.5 hours)
Khajuraho is by far the most convenient airport for visitors to Panna.
Which railway station should we use?+
The nearest railway stations are:
• Khajuraho
• Satna
• Katni
Most guests prefer travelling via Khajuraho or Satna.
Can we combine Panna with Khajuraho?+
Absolutely.
In fact, this is one of our favourite combinations.
The UNESCO World Heritage temples of Khajuraho are located less than 30 minutes from the reserve, making it easy to combine wildlife with one of India's greatest architectural treasures. We highly recommend spending at least one day exploring the magnificent temple complex before or after your safari.
Which gate should we stay near?+
Panna has two main tourism gates:
• Madla
• Hinauta
Although the gates are on different sides of the reserve, both provide access to the same tourism safari area.
Most of the good resorts and lodges are located near the Madla gate.
When is the best time to visit Panna?+
Every season offers a different experience.
October to February
Pleasant weather, lush forests and excellent conditions for wildlife viewing and birdwatching.
March to June
As water becomes scarce, wildlife gathers around the Ken River and waterholes. Summer offers the best opportunities for tiger sightings.
July to September
The core safari zones remain closed during the monsoon while the forest regenerates.
How hot does it get?+
Winter mornings: 6°C to 12°C
Winter afternoons: 22°C to 30°C
Summer: 34°C to 45°C
Winter mornings can be cool, while summers are hot and dry.
How many nights do you recommend?+
For first-time visitors, we recommend at least 2 nights with 4 safaris.
Wildlife enthusiasts and photographers should ideally spend 3 nights or more to fully appreciate the reserve.
How many safaris should we book?+
Our recommendation is:
• Minimum: 4 safaris
• Ideal: 5 to 6 safaris
Every safari offers a completely different experience depending on wildlife movement and the season.
Are tiger sightings guaranteed?+
No.
Tigers are wild animals, and no one can guarantee a sighting.
Every safari is unique, and often the most memorable moments involve much more than just tigers.
What are the chances of seeing a tiger?+
Panna has made one of the most remarkable wildlife recoveries anywhere in the world.
Today, the reserve supports a healthy tiger population and offers excellent opportunities for sightings, particularly during the summer months.
How early should we book?+
Safari permits are limited.
For weekends, holidays and the winter season, we recommend booking 3-4 months in advance.
What documents do we need?+
Please carry the original government-issued photo ID used while booking your safari.
International guests must carry their passport.
What should we wear?+
Neutral colours work best.
We recommend olive, brown, khaki, beige or grey.
Layer your clothing during winter as mornings can be cold while afternoons become pleasantly warm.

Panna is home to an impressive diversity of wildlife.

The Ken River adds an entirely different dimension to the wildlife experience and supports many species rarely seen elsewhere.
Can we do a boat safari?+
Yes, in many cases.
Boat safaris on the Ken River can often be arranged and provide excellent opportunities to observe crocodiles, gharials and birdlife from the water.
These are subject to the Forest Department's current rules, operational schedules and water levels at the time of your visit.
What time do safaris begin?+
There are two safaris every day.
• Morning Safari (5 to 6 hours)
• Afternoon Safari (3 to 3.5 hours)
Safari timings vary throughout the year depending on sunrise and sunset.
Can we bring our cameras?+
Absolutely.
Panna offers beautiful landscapes, river habitats and excellent wildlife photography opportunities.
Don't forget extra batteries and memory cards.
Is Panna suitable for children and senior citizens?+
Yes.
Panna is an excellent destination for families as well as senior travellers.
Guests should be comfortable sitting in an open safari vehicle for approximately four hours.
Is there mobile network inside the park?+
Mobile coverage is limited inside the reserve.
Most lodges offer reasonable connectivity, but once you're inside the forest, the focus naturally shifts to the wildlife around you.
Can we get out of the safari vehicle?+
No.
Guests must remain inside the safari vehicle throughout the drive unless instructed otherwise by Forest Department officials.
What if we don't see a tiger?+
You'll still have explored one of India's most scenic tiger reserves.
Cruising along the Ken River, watching gharials bask on sandbanks, spotting a leopard on the cliffs or listening to the sounds of the forest can be every bit as memorable as a tiger sighting.
Every safari tells a different story.
Are mobile phones allowed on safari?+
No.
You can either leave them at the resort or keep them in the locker provided by the Forest Department. The locker remains with your safari vehicle throughout the safari.

Take time to enjoy everything that makes Panna unique.
