Overview

The bright red and yellow flowers of the Candy Corn plant dazzle in the first rays of the morning, the colours livening up the entire atmosphere. Nearby, on an Entada creeper adorned with pods many feet long, plays a juvenile Malabar Flying Squirrel, its bushy tail helping it balance on the great heights where it enjoys its arboreal existence. A pair of beautiful Malabar Trogons flit through the bushes while a Brown Fish Owl's haunting calls echo across the never-ending woods of Dandeli. We sit next to a perennial stream, flowing from behind our camp, a stream that has been providing joy and life across the millennia. A hundred different birds sing in glory while the gentle waters of the stream flow ever so merrily! The raw and pristine beauty of Dandeli would have bewitched by you now and why not? It has bewitched and enthralled us for decades!

Dandeli is indeed a paradise for all nature lovers and birdwatching enthusiasts. This place holds one of the finest forests, which provides home to many endemic species of birds and mammals! Lush green meadows, verdant mountains full of lovely vegetation, the forest of Dandeli awaits you!

Day 1
Drive to Dandeli and get starstruck looking at Dandeli's green beauty.

We begin our journey from Pune by 5am. We will have enroute breakfast. We will reach Dandeli by 3pm. We check in at Kulgi Nature Camp and have a lunch. Later, we discuss the course of action for the day. The camp provides a treat to observe & photograph a variety of feathered friends. In the late afternoon, we go for a short trail outside our camp in search of elusive birds. Evenings would be dedicated to ice breakers and an interesting session on the forest.

Day 2
Nature exploration.

Waking up to the orchestra of birdsongs is sure to leave you feeling fresh! We then leave for a jungle safari. Dandeli holds one of the finest forests, which provide home to many endemic species of birds such as Malabar Trogon, mammals like Malabar Giant Squirrel and lots of reptiles too! Post breakfast, we go for a birding trail. Post lunch, time would be dedicated to either a nature trail or white water rafting (optional and if time permits).

Day 3
Nature exploration.

Today, we would be visiting the Kulgi Timber Depot for birds like Malabar Trogon, thrushes, starlings and many more endemic species. Hopefully by now, you should have spotted more than a hundred birds. Evenings we will go to Dandeli timber depot which is a home to Malabar Pied Hornbills and many woodpecker species.

Day 4
Drive back to Pune.

We start our journey back early in the morning. The forest of Dandeli is sure to have left you spellbound. With our cameras full and many memories to cherish, we board the bus back to Pune.

Costs

Booking amount: 50% of the tour cost.

Balance can be paid upto a month before departure.

Inclusions

  1. Pune to Pune transport.
  2. Accommodation for 3 nights at Kulgi Nature Camp (Basic facilities available)
  3. Meals- Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (from breakfast on day 1 to lunch on day 4).
  4. One safari at Kali Tiger Reserve.
  5. All fees of birding trails
  6. 5% GST (rate may change as per government rules and it will be applicable).

Exclusions

  1. Dinner on day 4.
  2. Any rail fare.
  3. Personal expenses like laundry, any beverages, tips, porter charges etc.
  4. Charges of any water sports like Coracle ride/ rafting charges.
  5. Anything which is not mentioned in the list of inclusions.


Booking Procedure

A 50% advance amount and a recognized Government Identity card (Aadhar, Pancard, Driver's License, OCI, Passport, Voter's ID, Government Employee's ID, school/College ID) would all do for Indian nationals.

For non Indian nationals, only Passport is allowed.

Cancellation - Refund (On Tour Cost)

  • If cancellation is communicated 10 days (or less) before departure OR No Show - No Refund.
  • If cancellation is communicated 20 to 11 days before departure - 20% of tour cost refunded.
  • If cancellation is communicated 30 to 21 days before departure - 40% of tour cost refunded.
  • If cancellation is communicated 30 to 59 days before departure - 60% of tour cost refunded.
  • If cancellation is communicated 60 days (or more) before departure - 80% of tour cost refunded.
  • If cancellation is communicated 120 days (or more) before departure - Full Refund.
