What to expect?

Set magnificently amidst the mighty Shiwaliks to its north and the great plains to the south, Corbett is probably the ultimate spectacle of Indian wildlife. This iconic land is beauty personified, with its humongous Sal canopies, white riverbeds, enchanting grasslands and the golden river, the pretty Ramganga. Tigers roam wild and free while elephants in hundreds patrol this colossus. Imagine waking up to the melodies of a hundred beautiful songbirds while elephants and deer make merry in the Ramganga as your gypsy rambles on, on the fabled Sambhar road, which is cocooned ever so prettily in between dense jungles on one side and the vast plains of the Ramganga on the other. 

This four day safari takes you right in the heart of Corbett National Park where we camp at the famous Dhikala Forest Rest House. This place is almost mythical, nestled in the deep core of the reserve, away from all civilization and where tigers are regularly spotted from the magnificent breakfast deck. Our chai-time stories about this place and the myriad of wonders it holds is what sets Beyond Wild apart. Our safari drivers here are the most passionate lot and they search for the many animals and birds with a glint in their eyes and a thunder to their gypsies. The rush they get after successfully tracking the Terai tiger or spotting the Spot-Bellied Eagle Owl high up on a tree is infectious. They make you fall in love with their jungle, their home, their ultimate paradise. Let the magic of this heaven in the Terai astound you. Day 1
Arrive Ramnagar - Drive to Dhikala

Arrive Ramnagar and leave for Dhikala in the morning in the form of a safari.

Today, we take 2 safaris in the magnificent Dhikala zone. India’s most glorious wilderness would leave you enthralled.

Overnight at the Forest Rest House in Dhikala.

Days 2 & 3
Morning and evening safaris.

Here we have morning and evening safaris into the famed grasslands (chaurs) of Corbett. Dhikala offers an

uninterrupted panoramic view of the valley. We set out in search of the tiger that is often spotted in the open

grasslands. A huge number of elephants along the way would keep your camera shutters busy!

On our jungle safaris, we also witness the rich avifauna of the region and go scouring for Cinereous Vultures,

Himalayan Griffon Vultures, Tawny Fish Owls, Great Slaty Woodpeckers, red-billed leiothrix and many other birds.

Day 4
Morning safari - Drive to Ramnagar

After the morning safari and breakfast, we take an en-route safari heading towards the main gate. Upon reaching Ramnagar, our tour ends.

  • Stay inside the reserve at the famed Dhikala Rest House (alternatively Gairal or Sultan Rest House) for three days.
  • Learn about animal behaviour, the local ecology as well as the tips and tricks of wildlife photograhy from our experts.

Balance can be paid up to a month before departure.

Please note: 

  1. Getting rest house bookings in Dhikala is extremely difficult and so please reserve your seat at least 60 days prior to departure.
  2. In Dhikala, no mobile network works.
  3. Please come along with a good pair of binoculars.
  4. Dhikala serves only veg food (egg is served).
  5. Liquor and smoking are strictly prohibited in Dhikala.


Inclusions

  1. Return transfers by Gypsies from Ramnagar to Dhikala and back.
  2. 6 (complete) + 2 (en-route) jungle safaris in the Dhikala zone of Corbett National Park in the company of expert guides and local drivers). This includes the park entry fees, driver and guide charges and the vehicle rent.
  3. Accommodation on double/triple sharing basis with all meals at the Dhikala Forest Rest house for 3 nights (meals starting with breakfast on Day 1 and ending with dinner on Day 4).
  4. Services of ‘Beyond Wild’ wildlife expert/s.
  5. Discussions, inputs and lots of knowledge-sharing on wildlife.
  6. Tips, tricks and sessions on wildlife photography and animal behavior.
  7. Visits to genuinely local handicraft shops.
  8. Interactions with local wildlife experts and naturalists.


Exclusions

  1. Any airfare.
  2. All Govt. Taxes as applicable.
  3. Personal expenses such as soft drinks, hard drinks, laundry etc.
  4. Any item not included in the list of inclusions.
  5. Delhi to Corbett and return transfers or rail fare - we will help arrange this at actual cost.
  6. Stay if needed in Ramnagar before and after the Dhikala tour.

Booking Procedure

A 50% advance amount and a recognized Government Identity card (Aadhar, Pancard, Driver's License, OCI, Passport, Voter's ID, Government Employee's ID, school/College ID) would all do for Indian nationals.

For non Indian nationals, only Passport is allowed. IDs should be scanned and mailed at camilla.malvestiti@gmail.com or alternatively WhatsApp at 07827408095.

Cancellation - Refund (On Tour Cost)

  • If cancellation is communicated 10 days (or less) before departure OR No Show - No Refund.
  • If cancellation is communicated 20 to 11 days before departure - 20% of tour cost refunded.
  • If cancellation is communicated 30 to 21 days before departure - 40% of tour cost refunded.
  • If cancellation is communicated 30 to 59 days before departure - 60% of tour cost refunded.
  • If cancellation is communicated 60 days (or more) before departure - 80% of tour cost refunded.
  • If cancellation is communicated 120 days (or more) before departure - Full Refund.
