A beautiful journey into the highlands of Pachmarhi and Satpura | Unique wildlife observation opportunities.
Pachmarhi (View All Batches)
A gecko darts aside, as rosettes emerge, hesitant, from the dense bamboo thicket. As the dappled evening light filters through the lush Sal canopy, you catch a glimpse of one of the most elusive cats of India, the leopard! As a gentle breeze blows across the grasslands of Satpura, the cat slinks away. The woods come alive!
What to expect?
Nestled among the sandstone peaks, lie these prime woods of Madhya Pradesh. First explored by the legendary Captain James Forsyth, this pristine landscape is dotted with alluring valleys, narrow ravines and vast grasslands. Satpura is one of the best places to see the majestic sloth bear, often spotted with their young ones in the winter and early summer months. Thanks to its unique topography, the leopard population in Satpura is thriving and you shouldn't be surprised to see ambling along the safari track! Because of its unique terrain, Satpura is rich in biodiversity, with the main highlights being the tiger, leopard, sloth bear, along with other mammals and a wide range of avian diversity. Satpura also holds the distinction of being the only tiger reserve in central India where you can go on a walking trail in the core, and with experts like Dr. Parag himself leading these hikes through the incredible woods of Satpura, be assured of an experience which only Mr Forsyth can fathom and appreciate in its entirety! Satpura is magic, Satpura is unexplored, Satpura is intimate!
We also visit the iconic hill-station of Pachmarhi, known for its mystical beauty! Take a walking trail through Pachmarhi along with our experts, and be amazed by the enchanting mix of history, nature and culture!

After exploring Pachmarhi yet again, we drive to Satpura post lunch. We will have a walking trail and introductory sessions in the evening, presided over by our camp mentors. Overnight in Satpura.
We spend the entire day in the jungle in the form of a full day safari or 2 half day safaris. We will try and track the tigers, leopards and sloth bears, enjoy the verdant bird life and the beautiful trees in bloom. Over the evening tea, as the sun sets over the Denwa river, we revel in the wonderment of our just concluded safaris in the breathtaking Satpura Tiger Reserve. Enjoy a brilliant session on wildlife and ecology conducted by our mentor as we set dinner for you.
Satpura is one of the only jungles that allows a walking trail in the core. We will spend most part of this day walking through the dense jungle and vast meadows. On this guided walking trail, we enjoy the rich botanical diversity, get to know about the mysteries of nature, scan for scat marks and paw marks and enjoy a day in the very heart of a pristine central Indian wilderness. This day will be etched in your memory forever! The group discussion tonight shall be transforming!
