Arrive in Ahmedabad by 8 am and after a sumptuous breakfast, drive to LRK. Upon checking in at the resort and a welcome lunch, our naturalist would brief you about the plan of action for the 3 days. In the afternoon, we go for our first jeep ride in the fabled barren landscape of the Rann and straight away, get to some action. Raptors and the Wild Ass would be on our priority list today. In the evening, as cold grips the desert, over a hot dinner, we enjoy the stars overhead and the Gujarati warmth beneath. We will also try for nocturnal birds around the campus at night.

Overview
Massive salt marshes and dry, parched lands that stretch all the way to the horizon and beyond seem lifeless at first sight! Which animal would live here, in these vast and desolate plains, most people would think!
Well, the Little Rann of Kutch (LRK) does surprise the visitor with its incredible bird and animal life specially adapted to live in these bleak salt marshes in India's westernmost state of Gujarat! It is famous as the last refuge on the planet for the Indian Wild Ass, those beautiful and hardy specimens which light up the bare and barren landscape. Out local experts coupled with our naturalist on camp would scan for signs of these gorgeous animals, and ensure you make some stunning images! The hyena, Desert Fox and the elusive Indian Gray Wolf are some of the other mammals LRK is known for. But, LRK's is the most fascinating place when it comes to its rich fauna. A great number of eagles like the Imperial, Steppe, Owls like the Short Eared, other raptors which include the Peregrine Falcon and the Merlin are just some of the incredible birds found here! We shall track them in golden light and try and make beautiful images. The experience of staying in the Rann, with endless salt flats for a company and a starry, starry night above you shall stay with you for ages to come. Amitabh's famous Gujarat advertisements would come alive and you shall, indeed, breathe in a bit of magnificent Gujarat!

In the form of two, morning and afternoon safari rides in the Rann, we explore the length and breadth of those massive salt marshes. We shall try for beautiful flamingos dancing in the blue oases, search for Owls hunting the desert rodents and track the very elusive hyenas and wolves. In the evening, we will have a gala dinner and a wonderful astronomy session.

After our fourth and final safari ride in the Rann, by virtue of which we would have covered most of our target species, we conclude our field sessions. Post lunch and a final critique cum group discussion session, we drive back to Ahmedabad to board the train/flight back home.

- Camera fees (200/- per camera with lens of 250 mm or above per safari).

- If cancellation is communicated 10 days (or less) before departure OR No Show - No Refund.
- If cancellation is communicated 20 to 11 days before departure - 20% of tour cost refunded.
- If cancellation is communicated 30 to 21 days before departure - 40% of tour cost refunded.
- If cancellation is communicated 30 to 59 days before departure - 60% of tour cost refunded.
- If cancellation is communicated 60 days (or more) before departure - 80% of tour cost refunded.
