Picture this: A grey-coloured, heavily-armoured, primordial beast grazes non-chalantly in the vast flood pains. A few steps behind him and dwarfed by the tall grasses is a huge herd of Asian Elephants. A couple of hundred meters across the swamps and in a small pond is a herd of ferocious looking Water Buffalos! Kaziranga is a haven for these magnificent herbivores, one of the very last refuges on earth where they can live peacefully! The spectacular flood plains, grasslands and forest patches of Kaziranga are magic. A great naturalist once said, `Kaziranga excites the senses, arrests the soul. It beckons a visit`!

Over the course of this safari, we will encounter a number of these huge beasts, mostly gentle and unassuming. The gigantic network of rivers weaving its way through Kaziranga supports a number of other animals too, the swamp deer, the hog deer, leopards, wild dogs and of course the predator par excellence, the Tiger! Astonishingly, the rich Kaziranga marshes houses the highest density of Tigers in the world! Getting to see one through the huge grasses is a matter of luck though!

This UNESCO world heritage site and of India`s many natural wonders is probably the best place in India for bird watching! Raptors ranging from the Fish Eagles to the Ospreys, and from Vultures to Griffons keep a constant watch from the towering broadleaf trees. Kaziranga has an amazing variety of water, grassland and forest birds too and some of the coveted species include the Swamp Francolin, Bengal Florican, Pale-capped Pigeon, Wreathed Hornbill, Black-breasted Parrotbill and the Blue-naped Pitta! A birding enthusiast is sure to get bowled over by the sheer immensity of birdlife! By way of our jungle safaris, elephant rides and watchtower forays, we will try and unearth as many bird species as possible!

We will take safaris in all of Kaziranga`s 3 ranges and enjoy a wild north-eastern experience! With a stay at a forest resort replete with hundreds of trees, we assure you of an unforgettable experience!
