This is, unfortunately, the world’s last refuge of the Indian Wild Ass. These splendid animals roam across the vast salt pans with elegance and majesty, where they are now protected in the Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary. Little Rann of Kutch is a bleak landscape which is seemingly devoid of any animal life. But scratch below the surface and you will find a plethora of animals, some of which include the Desert Fox, Indian Wolf and Nilgai. LRK is a very good place for birding too. Flamingos, ducks, cranes, coursers, bustards and larks all call LRK their home, either as winter migrants or permanent residents.
We stay at the Desert Courser lodge and enjoy an authentic Kutchi experience.
